Problem Statement

ChainGang is a personal project I created to address the shortcomings of existing bike maintenance apps and my own poor experiences with local bike shops.

I was frustrated with the lack of features in existing bike maintenance apps, which seemed to be more focused on tracking and recording routes than on actually helping users maintain their bikes. I also had a bad experience with a local bike shop, where I was given the wrong part number and ended up wasting $200.

I wanted to create an app that would fill in the gaps and make it easier for cyclists to maintain their bikes. ChainGang would be a virtual garage for cyclists, where they could house all their bikes in 1 location, track their maintenance history, find the correct part numbers for repairs, and even find where purchase parts directly thru the app. The app would also include a library of maintenance tutorials, and related manuals to their brand of bike.

Ultimately, ChainGang is a project that I created to showcase my skills and to make it easier for cyclists to stay informed about keeping their bikes in good working order.
